THE STUDENT RIGHT TO KNOW
AND CAMPUS SECURITY ACT
The
Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act of 1990 (20 U.S.C.A./1092g) amends
the Higher Education Act by imposing student consumer information requirements
on all institutions, and additional requirements on institutions that award
athletically related aid. Please follow this link for information
about UWA Graduation Rates.
Under
the Campus Security Act of 1990 and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus
Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, all post-secondary
institutions are required to prepare records on crimes reported and
arrests made on intoxication and alcohol related matters. It further
requires pro-active campus policies and programs on alcohol abuse, the
reporting of results of student disciplinary proceedings to alleged
victims, notification of how to report a crime and who will respond to the
student’s report, campus safety policies, and preventive security
measures. The University
supports the intent of the acts and has taken steps to adhere to the
guidelines. Various policies
in this handbook address the guidelines. Please follow this link for
information about UWA Crime Statistics.
