Tiger Paw Student Handbook

OUTSIDE DISPLAYS REGULATION

Students wishing to establish outside displays (such as chalk writings and banners) must submit a description of the display to Luther Gremmels, the Director of Student Life & Housing. Approval must be granted prior to establishing the display.  Mr. Gremmels' office is located in Brock Hall, Room 200.  Eligible candidates for SGA elections do not need prior approval for campaign posters and chalk writings but must adhere to campaign policies established by the SGA.

The University may limit the location of outside displays and reserves the right to determine the duration of time that an outside display may be located on campus. All displays should comply with standards of common decency and should not interfere with the educational environment of the institution. Since the University discourages the consumption of alcohol by minors, UWA does not permit outside displays that promote events taking place at bars and similar establishments, nor may outside displays include any reference to alcoholic beverages.

At the conclusion of the time period approved for an outside display, the location must be returned to its original condition. Students will be held financially responsible for any repairs or cleaning costs related to returning the display location to its original condition.
