Tiger Paw Student Handbook

SAFETY

Safety is everyone's responsibility and students are reminded to take precautions to keep the opportunity for crime to a minimum.

  • Lock vehicle doors and do not leave purses/valuables unattended inside.

  • Lock apartment or dorm room doors EVERY time you leave. Keep the keys with you.

  • If it is necessary to walk on campus at night, go with a friend and stay in lighted areas.

  • Report the presence of suspicious strangers around residence halls and University buildings.

  • Make an inventory of all valuables: record the brand, model and serial number of TVs and electronic equipment; record all credit card numbers and telephone numbers for reporting thefts. This information is vital for recovery of your property if it is stolen.

  • Report any safety hazards immediately.

The University Police Department welcomes ideas that make the campus safer. Please contact them if you have questions or suggestions.
