UWA Atmosphere: The laid back
feeling of campus life.

Deckheads: Baseball fans who gather
on the hill behind right-field at Tartt Baseball Field, and verbally assault
the opposing team, especially the right fielder.

The
Covered Bridge: Strolling through the Covered Bridge on
campus is a relaxing experience. The bridge, moved to the UWA
campus in 1971, is one of the oldest covered bridges in Alabama.
Built in 1861, the Covered Bridge has served as the location for many
romantic strolls. At least one student couple got married on
this historical landmark.

The
Loop: Walking and jogging around
the loop created by University Drive and Tiger Stadium Drive is so prevalent
that students often refer to the activity as "walking (or
jogging) the Loop".

Homecoming:
A fall semester tradition complete with parade,
bonfire, the "Key to Victory," football game, and dance.

Key
to Victory: A key that is hidden each year during
Homecoming Week. Clues are posted throughout the week, hinting
at the location of the the key. The student that finds the key
wins a cash prize.

Springfest:
A week of activities sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (CAB),
culminating on Springfest Day. Springfest Day is an outdoor
festival, featuring novelty activities and musical entertainment.

The
Kill Section: A designated area in
Pruitt Gym where overzealous Tiger Fans sit during Basketball games and
verbalize their school spirit.
